CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY IN BOONAH
Fassifern Voices brings an early taste of Christmas to Boonah in November when it presents “A Fassifern Christmas” in two concerts.
Fassifern Voices is a community choir under the musical direction of Dr Bob Smith; and since its inception some seven years ago continues to grow.
It now has over 40 members. Not only has the number of choir members grown but its audience also, continues to expand as word spreads about the value of the concert to music lovers.
Audiences receive great pleasure in listening to sometimes totally unknown music and seeing friends and acquaintances performing it with great panache and commitment, and the choir members also are delighted that they are learning music that is sometimes totally foreign to their previous experience.
“A Fassifern Christmas” is no exception with Christmas oriented music that everyone will know and others that may be totally new to them.
It contains music by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Afro-American Gospel songs, well-known Carols, audience sing-a-longs, music by Handel, by Gustav Holst, John Rutter, a beautiful Ukrainian Carol, music adapted by J S Bach, and much, much more.
Tickets are available here for the two shows on Friday November 22 and Saturday November 23 at 7.30pm.
